I will post (1) way each day for the next (8) days. Why? With online marketing, doing it step by step is an absolute MUST and in the past when I have coached clients, the biggest problem clients had was following each step in order and more importantly, completing each step….NO MATTER HOW TRIVIAL IT MAY SEEM TO BE!!!

Day 1 of 8 = “Define your target area and online target audience”

This step towards building an online business is imperative. When making a business plan, people naturally define their market. The size of the market you define alone can bring the investors you need. The market here includes people that will be likely to get interested in what services or goods your business has to offer. This also applies to building an effective online business. Before you arrange to pay for adverts, you should define the area that will be covered and also define the particular people that are interested, or at least, most promising to notice the advertisement of your business. There should be some statistics that should give you a base for your marketing strategies. Study demographic characteristics of potential customers who will benefit from your online business and plan based on the details you find. Some relevant products and services fit into a particular demography. For example, a population with a demography of old people will not be very likely to notice an online store that sells and delivers foods that contain a lot of sugar such as ice cream. But when you make the target area to be a place where many students reside or an online audience that lives in a very intemperate weather condition, you have a market that is very likely to notice and patronize your online store. This tactic is one of the most important in growing an online business that effectively attracts traffic. People buy products that are of proper service to them. So as a business person, you should know people that need your products and services. In fact, knowing your market and how big it is should be the driving force that inspires you to start your online business. So turn that inspiration into innovation by carefully targeting an online audience and the area in which they reside.

When you pay for adverts with a relevant target audience, you are concise and economical. This is because, in the advertisement, you spend much more to reach a larger amount of people. You might spend more reaching many people, but not many of them need your services. But when you have a target audience that is very much likely to patronize your business, you may spend less and have a lot of people coming for your goods and services.
